Meet the beauty of Brač

Brač is a mesmerizing island in the middle of the Adriatic Sea. It is the largest island of the Dalmatia and third largest island in the Adriatic Sea.

Distinguished Mediterranean climate prevails throughout the island of Brač which makes it a popular summer destination, just like the rest of the Croatian coast. Hot and drought summers make it the perfect place to enjoy the sea and sunbathe on the beautiful beaches.

Brač is not a very populated island as it has around 14 000 citizens. The largest city on the island is Supetar, followed by Bol and Pučišća. Supetar is the most popular tourist place on Brač and one of the best places to visit in the whole Dalmatia.

Citizens of the Brač know what’s tasty. As soon as you get out and place your foot on the ground, people will offer you dried figs and almonds. You can also find figs on trees, the whole island is covered with them.

If you want to taste an exceptional domestic food, you can visit one of many restaurants on the island. You’ll be able to enjoy fresh fish right from the Adriatic Sea or other Mediterranean delicacies. While the seafood is a common food on the island, you’ll also enjoy other domestic specialties like lamb and goat meat or Dalmatian smoked ham that you simply must try to make your trip the best it can be.

You’ll notice that people of Brač are calm, easy going and they love to relax and spend a lazy afternoon. You can expect a warm welcome on the island of Brač.

The most popular beach on Brač is the Golden Horn beach or Zlatni rat in Croatian (on the photo). What makes this beach special is that it extends half of the kilometer into the sea. It is a pebble beach located near the town of Bol. The shape of the beach is not permanent – it changes at the top because of the sea currents. You can’t and don’t want to miss this beach when you get to Brač. Golden Horn has even been declared no. 3 on the list of the best beach destinations in Europe.

Other beautiful beaches you should visit while on your Brač vacation are Martinica beach not far away from the city center and located right next to the monastery. Another great beach is Lovrecina beach which is located next to the Positra town. The beach is covered in sand and its surrounded with pine trees that’ll give you some shade during the day.

If you got some time left, make sure to visit Postira, a beach close to the Lovrecina Bay and the beaches surrounding Povlja and Milna town.
